How Does It Work?
How Does It Work?
In October 2009, the OPA introduced the Green Energy Act, and the microFIT program along with it. microFIT is designed to promote the use of solar power in Ontario. Solar power is widely regarded as one of the best power sources for the future.
These systems are very simple, have no moving parts, and are highly robust. Sunlight strikes the panels on your roof and generates electricity. The electricity runs into an inverter, which converts the power into a form that matches the city’s power grid. A meter records the power generated and the OPA will pay you based on your meter reading.
That’s it!
