In October 2009, the Ontario Government introduced its Green Energy Act, replacing its former plans to build new nuclear reactors.

Part of the program, “microFIT,” is intended to promote the use of solar power in Ontario. It’s open to almost every homeowner, and pays world leading rates – and guarantees that rate for 20 years.

With historically low panel prices and a great guaranteed income rate, a typical installation will pay off in 8 to 12 years, and then provide profitable power for another decade or more. The systems have no moving parts, are highly reliable, and have been in commercial operation for over 40 years.
